MGC and MWGA Regulations and Local Rules
Mooresville has installed state of the art GPS systems in their fleet of golf cars. This will enable members and guests to have access to all yardage information as well as an electronic scorecard.
Restricted areas have been created so the car will come to a stop and send a message to the player to put the car in reverse and back out of these areas. MGC hopes you will enjoy all the benefits of the GPS system.
USGA RULES OF GOLF will govern all play with the following exceptions:
Mooresville Golf Club management has the discretion to change local course rules depending upon the conditions of the course. The local rules may also be changed for competitions, but any changes will be decided and communicated prior to commencing play.

USGA RULES OF GOLF will govern all play with the following exceptions:
- EMBEDDED BALL- a ball which is embedded through the general area in its own pitch mark in the ground, except in loose sand, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned, and dropped as near as possible to the spot where it lay but not nearer the hole.
- GROUND UNDER REPAIR- defined by white lines, and all bare and rocky areas that are connected to the cart paths.
- PENALTY AREAS - will be identified by stakes and defined by lines. Water penalty areas are marked by yellow stakes and/or yellow lines
- Yellow Penalty Areas: yellow stakes and lines. Holes #9,10
- Red Penalty Areas: red stakes and lines. Holes #1,2,5,10,11,16,18.
- BALL DROP: #4, #9, #10 & #16 (If your ball comes to rest entering the clubhouse area including in the mulch or rocks on #4 you can drop in the drop area located behind the green with no penalty, if a ball crosses the road, use the same drop zone but with a one stroke penalty.
- OUT OF BOUNDS - all WHITE stakes will denote OB and the following: Out of bounds are marked by white stakes.
- #12-beyond fence on the left, and across cart path between #12 and 13.
- OUT OF BOUNDS OR LOST BALL - “When a player’s ball has not been found or is known or virtually certain to be out of bounds or lost, the player may proceed as follows rather than proceeding under stroke and distance if a provisional ball has not been hit. For two penalty strokes, the player may take relief by dropping the original ball or another ball in this relief area (See Rule 14.3.)
