Lake League
To become a member and to maintain membership in the Lake League, MWGA members must play five (5) eighteen-hole rounds at Mooresville each year on a Thursday Play Day. If a player joins after July 1, the first year they must play three (3) times to qualify. Once a member becomes eligible, she may opt to join Lake League if there is a slot available otherwise her name will be put on the wait list. In such years that there is a waiting list, all MWGA Lake League members must play a minimum of four (4) times in Lake League events in one (1) year to be eligible for membership the following year. Extenuating circumstances will be addressed by the Chairperson and the Executive Board.
LAKE LEAGUE (LL)
Registration 8:00 to 8:30, Shotgun start at 9:00.
Membership in the LL is limited to 40 per club (there might be a waiting list to join.) Those wishing to join will pay $35 for the first year and $30 for each subsequent year. Members must participate in at least four LL events to maintain their membership, otherwise they will lose their membership and must re-join if desired. The event is flighted by handicap. Winners in each flight are awarded 8 points for best gross and net, 4 points for second gross and net. At the end of the season members will receive payouts determined by the number of points won. These payouts will be paid in cash at the MWGA Closing Meeting.
LL observes the double par rule; if you take a double par on any hole you must circle your score on your score card. Invitations for league events will be sent from the Secretary via email. Sign up on the website www.mwga1872.com. The website will list cost and closing date.
