Green Tee Boxes
If the Green Tee (GT) marker is positioned at the very edge of the tee box, making it impossible or unreasonable to measure two club lengths to either side, the following procedure applies:
This ensures all players have a fair and consistent method to determine their teeing area, regardless of the GT marker’s position.
- Use the location of the GT marker as your reference point, i.e., the point closest to the hole.
- The “new” GT marker will be the center point across the width of the tee box for that hole.
- From this reference point, you may measure two club lengths to the left; two club lengths to the right; and two club lengths behind to establish your permitted teeing area.
- Players should consult this local rule clarification whenever the GT marker’s placement limits the standard teeing area measurement.
This ensures all players have a fair and consistent method to determine their teeing area, regardless of the GT marker’s position.
